  1. I really like how the article talks about how technology limits face to face interaction as I firmly believe in that. I believe that technology is a good tool simply it needs to be handled carefully as it could become counterproductive then. I think that in the near future technology will keep growing and the way we handle it will be key to how our society will turn out

  2. I agree that there is a fine balance to be found when it comes to technology. It is made to be helpful and not harmful and this is the way it should be used.

  3. Shayann, this was a pretty interesting article. I think technology offers some downfalls when it comes to face-to-face interaction, but the opportunities for connecting with family and friends all over the world are endless. I agree with your and Emily's comments about a need for balance in these interactions. Thanks for sharing.

    1. Once again it's all about balance, as a foreign student I am grateful for technology as i allows me to stay in touch with my family overseas however it should not take over face to face interaction

  4. Shayann, I really enjoyed this article. I definitely believe that technology now limits face to face interaction. I do believe this isn't always a bad thing though. In the world of job interviews, I think that mediums such as skype and facetime make the entire process simpler. I do think it is necessary to have a face to face interview before hiring... but I think this is a great first to second interview medium. On the other hand, technology can have a negative effect on relationships. I have witnessed many instances in relationships where social media, the internet and smartphones have had a negative impact. The shift from phone calls to text messaging alone has vastly changed our society. In today's age, more people will send text messages back and forth for 30 minutes than pick up the phone and handle the situation in a 2 minute conversation. Text messaging can limit the way you get your message across. Things can be taken out of context or read in a different tone than you meant to use. I couldn't agree more with Emily's thoughts. The key is definitely the way we handle it!

    1. Mary I really like what you say about social media and smartphones, it is a whole different world nowadays where teenagers are almost scared to call each other and would rather text. Face to face interaction also seems to be limited.
